An extensive file of official papers on British New Guinea from the estate of Sir Hugh M. Nelson. Mostly parliamentary papers, but including some typescripts, drafts (including one inscribed to the Right Hon. Sir H.M. Nelson), as well as a file of typed copy of letters from Mr Theodore F. Bevan to Sir William MacGregor containing a proposal for the development of the Pierari and Aird Rivers (Western Division) and Angabunga River (Central Division). Some of the papers are hand annotated in margins by the collector. Covers all aspects of Australia's official involvement in the administration of British New Guinea at this critical time.
